Once Traumatized, a South Sudanese Refugee Helps Other Women and Children Experiencing Violence
[Spotlight Initiative] WEST NILE REGION, Uganda – Rose Mary Tiep, 32, fled violence in South Sudan five years ago. After receiving Spotlight Initiative-supported counselling, she became a volunteer psychosocial support assistant with TPO Uganda to help other women and children leave and recover from violent situations. She lives and works in Omugo II, an extension of Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement, which is home to 43,000 refugees from South Sudan. Below, she shares her story.
